Dinnerware to dish out: Passage to India

Today I’m dishing out a fabulous collection of dinnerware by the French Gien label. The Gien china “Route des Indes” or Passage to India (the spice route) takes you on a trip through India’s fascinating panorama of vibrant colours and traditions. The illustrations are the work of former banker and widely travelled painter Arnaud d’Aunay. He has conjured up the vibrant hues and symbols of the continent’s rich culture on the ecru-coloured faience, as if it were a sketchbook and captured and translated his discoveries impressions and characters in watercolor, ink and tempera.

  1. Prachtig he?! Ik vind trouwens bijna alle serviezen van Gien geweldig! Tip, voor als je in de buurt bent, de factory outlet in Gien (aan de Loire in Frankrijk).
