Everything OZ: The Wizard book of Makes & Bakes

Remember my raving review of the book Everything Alice: The wonderland book of makes? Well, I’m happy to announce that on July 5 Christine Leech and Hannah Read-Baldrey are launching their second book with Quadrille publishing. And I was lucky enough to get my hands on it early. The ladies’ second book in the serie,  Everything OZ, is inspired by my favourite classic tale The Wizard of Oz from Frank Baum. Again, a spellbinding and creative collection of 50 bakes, makes and decorates.

The authors of this groundbreaking craft book serie have once again interpreted a perennially popular tale in their own unique way to come up with craft and bake projects, games and decorating ideas.  From over the rainbow cake, winged monkey party invites, cowardly lion hand puppets to cyclone cupcakes. Every detail in the movie has been cleverly made into a project. There are even some Oz apothecary recipes to put you to sleep or put on a brave face mask. I just love the lavender scrub and so easy to make! But you can always try to put yourself to sleep by folding paper poppies. In the back of the book you find all templates and a directory of inspiring places and suppliers.

So follow the yellow brick road and get swept away to this faraway land of makes and bakes. And don’t forget to put on your red shoes and tap your heels three times or you’ll be so caught up in the magic of the book that you will forget how to go home. You can buy the book here.
