Home interior trends 2013: Eye-catching Shelving designs

Last Monday I visited the IMM Cologne international furniture show.  I spotted lots of interesting furniture trends like the extensive use of the colour yellow. Another trend that I quickly noticed was design enhanced book shelving that is functional and aesthetically interesting.  The straight and simple book shelves are now replaced by eye-catching designs in asymmetrical forms and modular storage solutions.  The design shelves enable  you to arrange your books, dvds or CDs in an interesting way, making them an integral part of your interior decor. Here’s a round up of the unusual book shelving units I saw.

  1. Great shelves – but it would have been helpful if you’d noted the manufacturers’ names whose stands you saw them on! Thanks though…

  2. Hey Louise, great spot! Isn’t it funny how you can be at the exact same show as somebody and spot completely different trends!! I love this trend but totally didn’t pick up on it at the show. Thanks for sharing! x
