Mark your Calendar: 3 Hip Food events in Amsterdam

Mark your calendar because May is going to be epic (and disastrous for your diet).  Amsterdam is buzzing with almost weekly food events. But there are three events you just have to go to! These three are in my opinion the best events:

The Amsterdam Coffee Festival

The Amsterdam Coffee Festival celebrates Amsterdam’s exciting local coffee and artisan food sceneIn The Lab there are exciting live interactive demonstrations, workshops, talks, theatre and debates. You can witness first- hand how baristas create coffee art and experience the latest brewing techniques and new taste sensations. In the True Artisan Café Watch, you’ll  be inspired and will drink amazing coffee at the pop-up espresso bar. You can meet baristas from Europe’s best coffee houses and artisan roasters.  Sample bespoke coffees and cocktails, listen to live DJs and learn how to make professional coffee. The Roasting Area is the place to go to see, hear, smell and taste the coffee roasting process. Meet the roasters, smell the fresh coffee and hear the first crack. And of course there is also food and much more!

The Food Film Festival

The Food Film Festival is a three-day event about food. From tasting to workshops, and from watching food films to debates, it covers anything and everything that has to do with food. Dutch chef cooks will serve up their finest in the restaurant. But also the story behind food is important. Is it clean, good and fair food?

Taste of Amsterdam

Taste of Amsterdam is THE culinary event of the year for me. I never skip it. Holland’s best restaurants and chef cooks present us with bite size food to try and taste. The best wine and cocktails are served. There are workshops and cooking demonstrations, and there is an artisan food market with delicious bio and fair trade products to take home. To get an idea of what it is like visit my review blog post from 2 years ago.
