The new Ikea catalogue is out! I just love the day that it lands in my mailbox and I get to browse the latest trends and newest storage solutions. According to the design experts, bold prints, bright colours and chic combinations are the next big thing in 2015. We will also see folkloric and gypsy influences that are inherently characterized by colour- and pattern mixing. Yes, vivid colour combos are okay in 2015. I was excited to see that Ikea has incorporated the splash of colour in their new collection. There are however 3 picks that made my heart beat faster:
DRIFTIG Dinnerware
Bring some colour to the table with the DRIFTIG dinnerware collection. Designer Lisa Bengtsson threw in inspiration from both fashion and food. Different design patterns are effortlessly blended into a bohemian chic, Palm Springs kind of style. Playful leopard spots go on top of a tie-dye pattern of next to a geometric border.

The sparkling and shiny table lamps evoke memories of Arabian nights with their jewel style shapes and colours. Lycke von Schantz is the designer of these gems. She wanted to create a mystical mood with the embossed pattern in the glass. When you open the lid, you can transform the lamp into a sparkling treasure chest.
Ombre GADDIS baskets
The ombre trend is in its 4th year now and still going strong. Doesn’t it look good on these handwoven rattan and bamboo baskets?
