Diptyque Limited Edition Candles

Who doesn’t know Diptyque? The Parisian perfumer and maker of luxury scented candles, home fragrances and body care products is popular all over the world. I’m obsessed with their scented candles. What makes these candles unique and distinctive is the subtleness of the fragrance dispersing your space, as well as their extensive burning hours. My favourite scented candle is Ambre, followed by Vanille and Baies. So whenever I’m in Paris, I pay a little visit to their adorable, classic shop in Saint Germain, and I never leave empty-handed. They have impeccable service, and it almost feels like stepping back in time when you’re in the flagship store.

This time I left the shop with four limited editions: For my birthday I got the X-large (300 gr) Ambre candle in a cognac brown votive as a gift. Its scent is warm and elegant with a mix of vetiver, patchouli, aniseed, insolent spices, and tonka bean.[continue reading after photo]

I also treated myself to the Diptyque Limited edition mini candle coffret with three winter fragrances that transport you to winter landscapes and cozy nights near the fire: Epice (meaning spices), Hiver (meaning winter), and Resine (pine). They are only 70 gr but have a burn time up until 30 hours, making them the perfect travel companion to slip into your hand luggage. The packaging is gorgeous, too pretty to throw away. Designers are a team of young artists from Qubo Gas who successfully created a fusion of past, present and future with traditional and digital design techniques. Diptyque holiday limited edition

The Epice is warm and vibrant with tones of cinnamon and plum and comes in a fierce red votive. The Hiver candle, in a jewel blue votive, is subtle with the smell of roasted chestnuts and a wood fire. And the Resin is like walking in a pine wood forest. I love all three of them and might get the regular size candles to enjoy them even longer or maybe save them for December 2015.
