Mykonos seafront restaurant tip: Tasos Taverna at Paraga Beach

Two of the best lunches I had on Mykonos were at the beach at seafront restaurant Tasos Taverna on Paraga beach. The quiet Paraga Beach is only a short walk from the hotel I stayed the San Giorgio Hotel. The super cute tavern with its pretty flowers and charming decor is said to be the oldest tavern on the island. I didn’t have dinner at the tavern but I can imagine its romantic ambiance at sunset with the sound of the sea in the background. You can either sit in the sand, or at a table upstairs in the open restaurant.IMG_1143 IMG_1145 IMG_1146 IMG_1148 IMG_1154 IMG_1155 IMG_1156

Since I ate there twice, and once with a large group of friends, I could try almost everything on the menu. They serve the best grilled fish, sardines, an awesome Greek salad with grilled halumi cheese, and finger-licking houmous. I also tried the octopus and ceasar salad, and the typical Greek dish that looks like rice but is a pasta with prawns. The service is great, the ambiance friendly and laid-back, and don’t forget to order dessert! You must try the Greek cake and the flan!IMG_1160 IMG_1165IMG_1144tasos food tasos food 3 tasos food 2
