Coming days are packed with Christmas markets in the Netherlands. There are so many, that it’s hard to choose. Some are classic markets with lots of trinkets, and hand-made things. Others are modern, or themed. Christmas markets are the perfect place to get some last-minute Christmas ornaments, or a special gift. To help you choose, I collected the most fun markets. Most of them I visited in previous years, others I will visit this weekend. Love to hear to which one you are going.
Sissy Boy Xmas market in Amsterdam

Christmas at the Keukenhof Castle Dickens style in Lisse

Christmarket Landgoed Heerlijkheid Marienwaerdt in Beesd
From 10 – 13 December there is the Christmas Fair on estate Mariënwaerdt. The estate is like a fairy tale with beautiful Christmas decorations, bonfires, Christmas trees, candles, lights and attractively illuminated houses. Four days (and two nights), visitors can enjoy the cozy country atmosphere of the estate. Over 90 booths provide inspiration for the holiday season with unique Christmas gifts, warm and festive clothing, antiques, antiques, decorations, accessories and delicious delicacies.

Swan market xmas edition in Rotterdam
This year the Swan Market has another special Christmas edition on December 19 and 20th. It’s the place for surprising gifts for the holidays. Besides nice stuff there is homemade food and drinks to complete the event.
The 19th century English town of Charles Dickens revives in all its glory in the center of Deventer on 19 + 20 December. In the historic Bergkwartier up to 950 characters from the famous books of this English writer come to life from Scrooge to Oliver Twist, Mr. Pickwick to Christmas Carol Singers, from orphans to office clerks and respectable people. The Dickens Festival in Deventer is nationally and internationally recognized as a Christmas event of exceptional style and quality. The Dickens Festival is both days from 11:00 to 17:00hrs and is visited annually by over 150,000 visitors. Admission is free.
