Enter the Loft of Miss Bare in Amsterdam

Enter The Loft of Miss Bare in Amsterdam, an annual source of inspiration for interior design lovers. Each year an unique location is transformed into a pop-up loft, completely decorated with the best and novel furniture, home decor accessories, curiosities and art pieces. Every single item in the loft, including the wall paint and flooring is for sale, on location as well as online. This year, the loft’s fictional owner is Miss Bare, who loves serenity and simplicity. Her lifestyle, that reflects in her home decor, is characterized by mindfulness and her love for collecting fine arts.

Harmonious and calming

Miss Bare’s loft has a calming and harmonious decor. Muted colours like creamy whites, soft grey tones and earthy hues like sand and brown give the loft a soothing sphere. The colour palette is enhanced by combining it with natural materials, like linen, warm woods, marble and leather. The space is divided into five aspects of life: Living. Dining. Studying. Cleansing. Sleeping. Creative director of The Loft is Floris Koch whose objective was to create an enchanting space. I think he fully succeeded in that. Although it is minimalist, the decor is warm and inviting. It is feminine yet has enough robust elements to also appeal to men.

The Living

The living has a long Gervasoni Ghost couch to nestle into and that looks out on the garden. Two feminine accent chairs and a vintage Ib KofodLarsenSeal arm chair by Morentz surround an also long rustic wooden table. The rustic wooden side table holds antiques from A.A. Knoop Interieur, and is cleverly mixed with a contrasting contemporary Flos lamp. Above it hangs a striking photograph by Maarten Schröder.

Sleeping

The sleeping area is simple and airy with a comfortable matress by Muun, covered by soft linens from By Mölle. Again, on the wall adorns photography Maarten Schröder. The soft Berber rug is from Intrigue Collection.

Cleansing

The cleansing area is simple and serene with a stand alone bathtub. A Moroccan berber rug adds warmth and layer.

Cooking

An almost lenghtwise wall-filling kitchen with marble counter top offers plenty of space to cook and bake. Above the counter you see art by Mark de Weijer. Also striking are the lamps in the cooking area which are from WDSTCK, Workstead en Trizo21. I also loved the delicate ceramics on the counter top as well as on the oversized dining table.
