Summer Fashion favourite: Taka Kimono

My favourite summer fashion piece this year is my kimono from Taka. Taka is a Turkish brand by designer Tania Eskinazi, with shops in Turkey, Greece, California, Australia and Dubai. The Taka fashion items can be labeled luxurious resort wear that can be worn to the beach but also to dinner or cocktails on sultry summer nights. All pieces are super comfortable and wearable with bold prints and vivid colors. The designs exude casual glamour.

The natural fabrics (e.g. silk, cotton) are soft and airy. Everything is designed and produced in Turkey. Once in the shop you will have a hard time choosing between bikinis, kaftans, dresses, beach bags, sun hats, pants and tops. Some of them have the traditional embroideries used in the design named ‘Oya’. It is an ancient form of decorative art made by Anatolian women.

My kimono, called ‘Miracle’ feels super luxurious. It is made of a silky soft and comfortable fabric that is a blend of 50% cotton and 50% Tencel. Tencel has a botanic origin as it is extracted of the raw materials of wood. It is therefore eco-friendly as well just like most of Taka’s designs. They call themselves an environmental cautious, sustainable, ethical, slow and timeless fahion brand. Now that is a mouth full isn’t it? But I love the thought that goes into it.

The kimono is perfect to take on holiday as a cover up to wear over your bikini or one-piece. But I also like to transform it into a glam-casual look by pairing it with a bright tangerine or turquoise mini-dress to go out to dinner. And it even looks awesone with a pair of jeans shorts, wedges and a white tube top. By omitting the strap belt it makes a flowy and airy coat. The combinations are endless.
