The Harbour Club Rotterdam: where true food meets glamour

exterior of Harbour Club RotterdamLast month I was invited to the official reopening of The Harbor Club Rotterdam to celebrate their complete restyling. After a groundbreaking make-over of the interior, The Harbor Club Rotterdam now has 200 seats in the restaurant and 160 seats on the luxurious waterfront terrace. In addition, opening up the space of the large bar and the bar lounge has resulted in a more panoramic and connecting entourage. The new look fits seamlessly to what The Harbor Club wants to be in 2019: a characteristic, stylish venue for experiences, entertainment, good food, seeing and being seen and a varied mix of classic and creative dishes on the extensive menu. Classy with an edge, with international allure, that’s what The Harbour Club Rotterdam is really about. [continue reading after photos]

The menu

The Harbor Club menu expanded with a number of signature dishes from chef Barry van Wilgenburg. The fish is delivered fresh daily by Schmidt and Zeevis while the “Catch of the day” is presented in the fish display in the middle of the restaurant. With dishes varying from à la minute rolled sushi, various oysters and fruits de mer there is plenty of choice for the fish lovers. The meat is also of the best quality, delivered by Nice to Meat. The Tomahawk and Rib-eye are dried on site in special Dry Age cabinets and the meat is prepared on the broiler, a special grill that is heated to 1300 degrees.

Tried and tested

I got to try different dishes. From sushi rolls, sashimi to a crispy grilled octupus. If you love fish you will surely love this place. The grilled scampi and Korean wraps with duck were also super tasty. The rib eye is tender and has that smokey grilled flavour I love so much. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. The octopus was my personal favourite. The Harbour Club Rotterdam encourages guest to order different dishes and share them with your group. That way you’ll have the ultimate experience and get to try the different flavours.
