Inspirational Home: Modest luxury and soft tones

One of my two favourite inspirational homes at the Dutch Furniture & Lifestyle Fair the ‘Woonbeurs’ is always the More than Classic (MTC) home. For those of you who have never been to the Woonbeurs…The most prominent Dutch interior magazines create complete inspirational homes at the fair to showcase the latest trends, furniture, fabrics, wallpaper and flooring in a real setting. Each home has completely decorated and styled spaces to inspire visitors and to represent the magazine. The Dutch interior magazine More than Classic represents high-end, design interiors, with luxury and sophistication.

This year the MTC home is of the hand of no one less than interior designer Steven van Manen. It is a modest luxury home with soft tones and elegance. He made use of opulent materials like marble, brass, and wood, and subtle details in glass or gold-plated. The colour scheme is pearly pink, soft green, and grey tones. It is poetic and timeless.

The bedroom has Asian influences with an antique Chines bed, and lush palm plants. The living is effortlessly chic with a sofa by Rodolfo Dordoni and an accent wall with sunburst mirrors. The poufs and some of the pillows you might recognize, as I blogged about them last year; they are from velvet lab. I am smitten with the brass ring and marble table by Fabian Pellegrinet.
