Home tour: the Charleston designer showhouse

If I were in the vicinity of Charleston I would definitely go to this year's designer showhouse. I have been swooning over the pictures of the house on instagram and the internet. An old Charleston townhouse is totally refurbished and decorated by  designers like Mitchell Hill, The English Room, & more. The Henry Street House at 36 Society St., will be open to the public until April 15. The Revival-style home originates from 1804, but was destroyed in what is known as the “Great Fire … [Read more...]

Home Decor: Bloomingville collection AW 2016/2017

Bloomingville 2016/2017

One of my favourite home decor brands is the brand Bloomingville. While visiting the interior fair Maison et Objet in Paris I was stunned by their autumn/winter collection for 2016/2017. The new accessories collection harks back to the 1970s with classical patterns, ceramics, rough edges and natural textures in hues like mustard en dark blue. On the other hand it is also very feminine with dusty pink, soft purple, gold and marble accessories. The furniture pieces are small and feminine with … [Read more...]

Paris hotspot: Yeeels Restaurant & Bar

Last week I had lunch at Yeeels, a newly opened restaurant in Paris. The place consists of 2 levels. The top, street level floor is a restaurant, and the basement level is a bar and nightclub. The design is sophisticated and contemporary with velvet Gubi chairs, brass details, and marble accents, yet evokes a classic Parisian chic feel. Most impressive is a glamourous gleaming brass stairs between the two levels with an oversized lamp leading you towards it. I instantly fell in love with it. The … [Read more...]
