Interior Design inspiration at The Holiday House London

Holiday House London

Last week I went to see the design show house "The Holiday House London". If you're in London, or planning to go for Christmas shopping I highly recommend to go see this, as it's only open for one more week (until December 10th). The Holiday House London consists in fact of two town houses in 59 & 61 Hamilton Terrace that are completely decorated by leading interior designers. The celebrated interior designers were each assigned one space to decorate in their own style. The result are two … [Read more...]

Weekendtip: Salon Residence

This weekend (Sep 28-Oct 1) interior design magazine Residence organizes its second Salon Residence event. After the successful edition in 2015 - see my blog here - they once again transform the Singer Museum in Laren into an inspirational interior design showcase. This year the theme is 'Boutique Hotel'. Eighteen renowned interior designers decorated their own bespoke space. Why the theme 'boutique hotel'? Hotels have become the designer's preferred form of presenting him/herself. … [Read more...]

Trend: Furniture with cane webbing

cane webbing sofa

Move over wicker and rotan because cane webbing is taking over home decors. It might take a while for this design revival to grow on people. I can imagine one has to get used to the comeback of this golden oldie from the 1980s. But then again, the 80's were in fact also a renaissance period because cane webbing was first introduced in home decor in colonial ages. It is a typical Indonesian artisan. If I come to think of it, my great aunt, age 95, who lives on Curacao has dining chairs and a … [Read more...]

Crush on Bolia’s new luxury collection

I'm currently swooning over the new autumn/winter collection by home decor store Bolia. The collection is a homage to the avant-garde style of the 70's but with a sleek Scandinavian interpretation.  The Bolia collection exudes luxury with its rich fabrics and exclusive materials. Think glimmering brass pegs and details, soft and shiny velvet sofas, extravagant marble tables and dark woods. The furniture pieces and shapes are also very 70's; the pouf is back, or display your record player … [Read more...]

Home tour: the Charleston designer showhouse

If I were in the vicinity of Charleston I would definitely go to this year's designer showhouse. I have been swooning over the pictures of the house on instagram and the internet. An old Charleston townhouse is totally refurbished and decorated by  designers like Mitchell Hill, The English Room, & more. The Henry Street House at 36 Society St., will be open to the public until April 15. The Revival-style home originates from 1804, but was destroyed in what is known as the “Great Fire … [Read more...]

Ibride wannahaves

Through the years I have blogged about Ibride multiple times (see here and here). I just love each and every collection they bring out. At the Maison et Objet home decor fair, I was yet again in awe of their latest collection. The new collection consists of gorgeous, whimsical table ware design, and romantic floral tray tables and accent pillows. The Yuan Parnasse line is designed by Benoît Convers and illustrated by Rachel Convers, the plates and bowls are reminiscent of the Roman era. And just … [Read more...]
