Day trip from Kusadasi: Sirince

Sirince

Yesterday I shared my top 10 of things to do in Kusadasi. Today I would like to zoom in on one of the tips: a visit to Sirince village. Sirince, which means 'pretty' is a charming little village in the mountains. On a height of 600 meters, in the back-land of Izmir and Kusadasi it is a popular destination for tourists to get a taste of a traditional Turkish town. Its signature architecture of white Greek houses remind us that it was once an Ottoman Greek settlement. However after WWI there … [Read more...]

Hotel to Heart: Hôtel Le Delos on île de Bendor

Hotel Delos Ile de Bendor

During my latest trip to the Côte d'Azur I stayed in one of the most charming hotels I have ever stayed in. Hôtel Le Delos is located on the tiny island Bendor, 5 minutes ferry trip off the coast of Bandol's harbour. Bendor island, or île de Bendor, is owned by Paul Ricard, who is famous for his signature French liquor Pastis; an anise flavoured spirit. The small island has five restaurants, a beach, an artist village with shops, an art gallery and two museums. It's a traffic free island, … [Read more...]

Summer Fashion favourite: Taka Kimono

My favourite summer fashion piece this year is my kimono from Taka. Taka is a Turkish brand by designer Tania Eskinazi, with shops in Turkey, Greece, California, Australia and Dubai. The Taka fashion items can be labeled luxurious resort wear that can be worn to the beach but also to dinner or cocktails on sultry summer nights. All pieces are super comfortable and wearable with bold prints and vivid colors. The designs exude casual glamour. The natural fabrics (e.g. silk, cotton) are soft and … [Read more...]

Kusadasi Wine Tasting and Winery Tour

Kusadasi wine tasting

A personal highlight of my trip to Kusadasi was a wine tasting, winery tour and dinner at the Seven Sages winery (7 Yedi Bilgeler). The winery, which is also a restaurant and hotel, is only a 20-minute drive from Kusadasi. Set amidst rolling hills the estate offers a spectacular panorama with view on the vineyard and mountains, especially during sunset when the sky lights up tangerine. I instantly fell in love with the place because of its tranquility and authenticity, and would love to stay in … [Read more...]

Where to stay in Kusadasi? The Korumar Hotel De Luxe

Korumar Hotel Kusadasi

If you are following me on instagram you couldn't have missed that I have been travelling quite a lot lately. My latest trip was to Kusadasi in Turkey. The beautiful seaside town is a perfect base to explore Turkey's natural and historical treasures. However, most tourists flock to this resort town to enjoy the beaches and lay by their hotel's poolside. Either way, a nice and comfortable hotel is in my opinion a must. I was fortunate to be invited to the beautiful  five star Korumar Hotel De … [Read more...]

An afternoon at Strand Zuid in Amsterdam

Strand Zuid Amsterdam

Last Wednesday, my friend and I and the kids spent the afternoon at the newly opened Strand Zuid in Amsterdam (translates: Beach South). Since I only work part-time I try to enjoy my days off as much as possible, especially in summer. I like to go outside and explore new restaurants, stroll through Amsterdam, or go to the beach. I was therefore super curious about the new city beach in Amsterdam that is all of the aforementioned combined. My friend and I met for lunch and spent the whole … [Read more...]
