Lulu Coconut Grove

Hotspot Miami: LuLu in Coconut Grove

While in Miami my favourite neighbourhood restaurant in Coconut Grove was Lulu. For one, I love the name since it is my own nickname. But mostly I loved it because of the fantastic food and cocktails, and the excellent location and friendly vibes. The outside terrace is always packed and that’s no surprise because it’s a perfect spot for people watching on the corner of Commodore Plaza. Whether you go there for weekend brunch, lunch or dinner, the vibe is always fun and friendly. At night the atmosphere is even nicer when the lit palm trees and dispersed candles give it that extra sizzle and ambiance.

The Food

Three things you have to try once there: as an appetizer, try the goatcheese croquettes with guave bbq sauce. If only I could get my hands on the recipe of that sauce! Splash that away with the lychee lu signature cocktail, a mix of vodka, pomegranate liqueur, lychee liqueur and lycee juice. It’s sweet but also refreshing. I could easily sipped on 5 more of those.  The seared diver scallops with local corn, roasted red pepper and bacon are really, really good! Are you going for lunch then you have to opt for the asian chicken salad.

The interior decor

But also the interior decor is something to check out. It’s classy, and design conscious with an edgy touch to it. Round mirrors, Mediterranean tiles, industrial lamps, and leather seats make it an eclectic and interesting decor.
