Ikea’s True Blue collection

Have you seen Ikea’s new limited edition True Blue collection? The designers collaborated with local Indian craftspeople in creating this very special line. It’s an exclusive mix of Swedish design and Indian craft and colour, produced in India. There are 43 products in this extraordinary collection.

The Swedish design team traveled to India in search of metals, glass and textiles, and decided to produce everything there in collaboration with local craftsmen and women.  The Indian craft is therefore very prominent in this collection like the BURGSVIK table made from yellow copper, which is very common in India. The sullen yet soft BOHÅKAN chair was inspired by pillows from a textile factory in south India.

I have to say that all fabrics in this collection are surprisingly authentic looking with their Indian patterns and Indian look and feel. Like the embroidery on the  BLÅSKLÖVER pillows, inspired by India’s lively traffic. I also love the paper store boxes and BARKESTAD roomdivider.

The collection is only available for a limited time while stocks last. To find out more, check your local Ikea website because release dates may vary per location.
