Côte d’Azur travel tip: Ramatuelle

When visiting the Côte d'Azur there are so many cute villages on my list that I never get to finish my list. During my last visit to France, I really enjoyed Port Grimaud and Bormes les Mimosas. I also went to the village Ramatuelle, which was only a 10 min drive from my hotel in  Saint Tropez. Compared to the other villages, I found Ramatuelle to have a bohemian vibe to it. I went during the day, but I can imagine it's even more fun in the evening when all terraces are packed and romantically … [Read more...]

Visiting Port Grimaud in the Côte d’Azur

Port Grimaud

If you're staying in the Côte d'Azur, a visit to Port Grimaud is truly a must. The waterside town is only 8 km from Saint Tropez. Port Grimaud is often referred to as the little Venice of France due to its maze of canals, bridges and quays lined with colourful houses. It is however not that old. The residential marina-village, was built in 1966 in a provencal style with a modern twist. Designed by the famous 20th century architect Francois Spoerry the streets almost seem to emerge from the … [Read more...]

The most beautiful village in the Côte d’Azur : Bormes-les-Mimosas

Tucked between the Mediterranean sea and the Maures mountains, on the route from Hyères to Saint Tropez, there is Bormes-les-Mimosas. The small medieval village, perched on the slopes of the coastal hills, is said to be the most beautiful village in the Var region of the Côte d'Azur. I have no trouble believing that, as I was indeed mesmerized by its beauty. The village is boasting with flowers, blooming bushes, and lush vegetation. Bormes-les-Mimosas is also the starting point of the famous 130 … [Read more...]

Plage de Saint Clair – the Côte d’Azur best kept secret

Plage Saint Clair

Beaches abound in the Côte d'Azur, but finding one that stands out from all the rest is quite a task. The French southern coastline is one of the most beautiful beach destinations in Europe. The versatility of beaches is endless; You can have your pick between white sandy beaches, organized family beaches, unspoiled coves, rocky and rugged hide-aways, and bustling stretches of coastline with a boardwalk and seafront beach clubs. However, Plage de Saint Clair - or Saint Clair Beach- undisputed … [Read more...]

Côte d’Azur travel tip: a day trip to Île de Porquerolles

Ile de Porquerolles

The highlight of my holiday in the Côte d'Azur was my day trip to the island Porquerolles - in French: Île de Porquerolles. I found it so beautiful and peaceful that I literally teared up while I was there. The unspoilt island is boasting with deserted coves, and white sandy beaches with the clearest water you have ever seen. It is like a little piece of Paradise on earth. But that's not all. Île de Porquerolles is besides a tropical beach destination also a haven for nature lovers, bikers and … [Read more...]

Inside the Chanel mansion in Saint Tropez

chanel pop up boutique st tropez

Every year, the La Mistralée private mansion in Saint Tropez transforms into a seasonal Chanel pop-up boutique. Until October 5th, 2016 you can gauge at, and shop the summer resort collection in a beautiful setting. As a real Chanel fan, I obviously went to the pop-up boutique on my recent vacation in Saint Tropez.  I was amazed by the beauty of the mansion, as well as the fashion collection. Unfortunately I wasn't allowed to take photos inside the mansion or in the spectacular lush, and serene … [Read more...]

Côte d’Azur seaside restaurant tip: Couleur Jardin

Restaurant Couleur Jardin

When travelling in the Côte d'Azur, one of the best things is, to have dinner at a seaside restaurant. Nothing beats the experience of dining with a sunset view and a sea breeze, doesn't it? My hotel, Hôtel L'Orangeraie in La Croix Valmer, was only a 5-minute drive from Plage Gigaro, where a few charming restaurants are lined along the beach. My favourite was Couleur Jardin where I had the most delicious fresh mackerel. The restaurant's decor is super charming with an outside terrace, and … [Read more...]
