Great Escape to île de Bendor in the Côte d’Azur

ile de Bendor

I'm a real island girl so whenever I get a chance to escape to one, I do. This summer I discovered the most adorable little island just 5 minutes off the coast of Bandol in France. Ile de Bendor, or Bendor island, is also called ' the island of arts'. It was bought by Paul Ricard in the 1950s when it was nothing more than rocks, barren and wild greenery. Bandol winery tour

When you say Bandol, you say rosé wine. Bandol is the capital of the most prestigious French wines and especially French rosé. Hotel to Heart: Hôtel Le Delos on île de Bendor

Hotel Delos Ile de Bendor

During my latest trip to the Côte d'Azur I stayed in one of the most charming hotels I have ever stayed in. Hôtel Le Delos is located on the tiny island Bendor, 5 minutes ferry trip off the coast of Bandol's harbour. Bendor island, or île de Bendor, is owned by Paul Ricard, who is famous for his signature French liquor Pastis; an anise flavoured spirit. The small island has five restaurants, a beach, an artist village with shops, an art gallery and two museums. It's a traffic free island, … [Read more...]
