Bright Thinking

Lighting is so important in your interior. Without good lighting your space can look boring, or just doesn’t come of as it should be. There are a lot of lamps out there that can illuminate a space, but the design of a lamp is something else. And now it happens that I have expensive taste and always fall in love with design lamps way over my budget. Nevertheless, I’m sharing them today, just because they are too stunning to keep a secret.

Tom Dixon is my number 1 favourite lamp designer. He designed a series of lights inspired by the sculptural simplicity of brass cooking pots and traditional water vessels on the subcontinent. The Beat lights are spun and hand-beaten by renowned skilled craftsmen of Moradabad in Northern India. Also available in white!

I really like these hats lamps from Jake Phipps. They are streamlined, chic and sleek with a reference to the English gentleman.

Messalina was an ancient Roman empress who conclusively demonstrated that even upper, upper class women could be overtly saucy. Promiscuous and powerful, it’s fair to say she knew a thing or two about mood lighting and back-room deals. Italy’s Contardi have found a classic worth honoring with their pendant lamp. The graceful curves are formed with handblown glass and the look is completed with chrome and bronze.

The Arteriors Savoy Polished Brass Pendant goes well in any kind of interior and in any space if you ask me.

The hand hammered iron pendant from Arteriors is beautiful design and expert craftsmanship. Hand painted details enhance the look.
