My second favourite inspirational home concept from a Dutch magazine at the Woonbeurs Amsterdam, was the house created by More than Classic. It was like stepping into the home of a Hollywood actrice. Glamourous, but not flashy. Soft tones, pastels, sheers, champagne hues and soft metallics were tastefully mixed making it an elegant feminine home. The big eye catcher you couldn’t miss, was a white steel chandelier.
Interior designer Steven van Manen can take credit for this awe-inspiring home. He makes visitors forget about the recession when crossing the threshold of the MTC Woonbeurs Home. The living room is light, luxurious yet inviting. The bedroom, walk-in-closet and bathroom ensuite are opulent and chic. Van Manen made use of different kinds of materials like white marble, and wooden floors with graphic patterns. He used heavy fabrics but in light warm colours. The walls had shimmering silver-coloured wallpaper with a tile motif. Pearls, sea treasures and tropical flowers in bright pink shades made your eyes wander from bookshelf to bookshelf. A white mantle piece with chairs and poufs around it, makes it homey and cozy. Another showstopper in the house is the green wall in the bathroom. The vertical gardening trend is now also moving inside the home.
Trends to watch: 1. pastels, pink, 2. coastal accessories, 3. wallpaper that looks like tiles, 4. vertical gardening
