An upcoming trend in home decorating is pinning your rug to the wall. Actually, I don’t think you can really speak of a trend but more of the resurgence, because using rugs as art on your wall has been done for ages. In the late 60s and 70s people used to do it not merely for decorative purposes but also as means of heat insulation, or to mute sound. I myself grew up with this trend, although it were small ethnic ones. It were mostly artisan, folkloric and antique rugs that set the tone back then. Currently, the trend is evolving into hanging your largest rug as head board in the bedroom, or modern designs as art pieces in the living. A rug adds warmth, texture and depth to a room. I like the resurgence, what about you?
