As the year draws to a close…

As the year draws to a close, it’s time for me to take a short break from blogging. The year 2017 was mainly focused on traveling and has brought me a lot of new adventures. At the start of the year I set the personal goal to make one trip every month. It didn’t have to be far, as long as it fueled me with new experiences and gave me new sights. I didn’t quite reach that goal, but I came pretty close with 9 months of travelling. I even got to check off 2 destinations from my bucket list; Rome and my road trip from Miami to Key West. I’m so happy I did that road trip because it is now in my top 3 of best vacations ever.

In 2017 I traveled to Valencia, Miami, the Florida Keys, Rome, Colmar, Strasbourg, Turkey, the Côte d’Azur, Sicily and the Aeolian Islands, Limburg (Netherlands), Luxembourg and London. And guess what, I haven’t even started blogging about  Luxembourg, Rome, Sicily and the Aeolian Islands yet!

Due to fitness and work priorities and private circumstances I wasn’t able to blog as much as previous years. I went through a very rough time after a heartbreaking, devastating family loss and have often thought about sharing it on my blog. But I’ve decided not to, or not yet anyway. The reason is that I once started this blog to share and spread happiness. I want to inspire. Jotting down my lows might help a few in similar positions but it doesn’t spread joy. So my sincere apologies for blogging less than you were used to of me. Nonetheless you stuck and continued to support me by reading my blog, by commenting, or following me on instagram, twitter and facebook. THANK YOU for that.

I’ll be back on the blog in the first week of January. Meanwhile you can still follow me on instagram and instastory. That leaves me to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
