Hotel to Heart: Castle Bloemendal in Vaals

Last week I blogged about the exiting weekend trip to Limburg in the south of the Netherlands. Today, I would like to share more about that little escape that left me so rejuvenated. What makes or breaks a perfect getaway is in my opinion the hotel. And boy, we stayed in a hidden gem! The Kasteel Bloemendal, also known as the Hotel Van der Valk Vaals, is a gorgeous castle set in a green haven of tranquility. Driving up towards the hotel instantly makes you feel like nobility. An impressive white … [Read more...]

Hotel to Heart: The Corner Townhouse in Rome

Spring and autumn are in my opinion the best seasons to visit Rome. When I was there in spring I managed to find a perfectly located design hotel. The Corner Townhouse is a small, intimate boutique hotel that is only steps away from the Colloseum. It is, as the name already suggests, located on a corner in a Roman townhouse. It is an early 1900s palazzo, with high ceilings, gorgeous stuccos and marble details. The rooms are all unique, not one is decorated the same. I stayed in a room on the … [Read more...]

Kusadasi Wine Tasting and Winery Tour

Kusadasi wine tasting

A personal highlight of my trip to Kusadasi was a wine tasting, winery tour and dinner at the Seven Sages winery (7 Yedi Bilgeler). The winery, which is also a restaurant and hotel, is only a 20-minute drive from Kusadasi. Set amidst rolling hills the estate offers a spectacular panorama with view on the vineyard and mountains, especially during sunset when the sky lights up tangerine. I instantly fell in love with the place because of its tranquility and authenticity, and would love to stay in … [Read more...]

Where to stay in Kusadasi? The Korumar Hotel De Luxe

Korumar Hotel Kusadasi

If you are following me on instagram you couldn't have missed that I have been travelling quite a lot lately. My latest trip was to Kusadasi in Turkey. The beautiful seaside town is a perfect base to explore Turkey's natural and historical treasures. However, most tourists flock to this resort town to enjoy the beaches and lay by their hotel's poolside. Either way, a nice and comfortable hotel is in my opinion a must. I was fortunate to be invited to the beautiful  five star Korumar Hotel De … [Read more...]

Vacationing at The Paradise Inn in Key West

The Paradise Inn Key West

I'm back from my fantastic holiday in Florida, the sunshine state! It was epic. The first part of my holiday I spent in Key West and the second part in Miami. Both completely different yet both totally in my league. It was a perfect combo: the Keys for a good dose of a no fuss, chill and relax mode, and Miami to satisfy the foodie, and luxury loving fashionista in me. So be prepared for lots of blog posts about both destinations. Today I'm starting with a look back at the most wonderful B&B … [Read more...]

Crete travel diary: Staying at the Sensimar Kalliston Resort

I'm currently in Crete and thought it would be nice to blog daily about my stay here. In collaboration with TUI Nederland and Visit Greece I'm in Chania to uncover traveltips. My tips will appear on the TUI website and on ILoveGriekenland.nl Chania is situated in the west of Crete. But, more about Chania in another blog. Today I would like to share a few snapshots of the resort I'm staying in. I'm not in a design or boutique hotel like you are used of me, but in the 5* Sensimar Kalliston Resort … [Read more...]

Hotel to Heart: Hôtel L’Orangeraie in La Croix-Valmer

Hotel L'Orangeraie la Croix Valmer

After staying in Saint Tropez, where everything is glamourous and cosmopolitan, I thought it would be nice to stay in a more French Provencal hotel. I love boutique and design hotels most, but this time I was looking for something charming. My quest led me to the Hôtel L'Orangeraie in La Croix-Valmer. The building dates back to 1900 when it used to be a convent, later a mansion, and now a peaceful haven not far from Ramatuelle, Saint Tropez and the beaches. Although it's a 3* hotel, its charm … [Read more...]
