Hotel to Heart: The Aries Hotel & Spa in Zakopane

Yesterday I blogged about my short winter escape to snowy ski resort village Zakopane in Poland >read here< During my visit I stayed in the fabulous Aries Hotel & Spa and it was really a home away from home. If I ever return to Zakopane I will definitely stay at this hotel again. From the relaxing pool, spa and sauna facilities to the extensive breakfast buffet and the super comfortable bedrooms. Everything was flawless and executed with so much attention into the smallest details. The Aries Hotel & Spa is situated in the heart of Zakopane steps from the famous Krupowki Street, making it the ideal hotel to explore the mountain village.

Aries Hotel Zakopane

The first thing you see when you walk into the Aries Hotel is a comfortable leather chesterfield sofa in front of a crackling fire, wooden logs at hand. During Christmas season, (when I visited), the mantelpiece is adorned with garlands and decorations. The whole lobby is filled with the scent of pomegranate and cypress candles and poinsettias and multiple Christmas trees in every corner make the space a small winter wonder land. The tone was set, what a warm and inviting welcome!

The bedroom

Our bedroom at the Aries Hotel, a premiere double, was a sanctuary to rest and curl up after a full day in the snow. It has all the comforts you need. The decor is full of Polish folklore into the smallest details. Wooden carvings and folklore prints and patterns are tastefully and elegantly applied in the interior design. The crisp white sheets are layered with a faux fur blanket. Across the bed is a small desk. Another detail I really loved is a small bench and coat hooks next to the entrance of the room to take of your snow boots and leave your mittens and winter knits.

The Pool, Spa and sauna

After a day in the cold it was pure bliss to retreat in the hotel indoor thermal pool with underwater loungers and a hydro massage sitting area. To rejuvenate you can blow of some steam in the different saunas. Although it’s a large hotel there were few people and it felt very intimate and private. There is an aromatic steam bath, a salt cave, a Russian banya and a traditional Finnish sauna.

I plunged in luxury in one of the two roofed outdoor jacuzzis with a winter’s snowy scenery. Getting out of it and braving the cold was something else. At the spa you can opt for different massages and beauty treatments.

Breakfast

The Breakfast buffet at the Aries Hotel & Spa is a fest. There is so much to choose from that you literally don’t know what to choose. Everything is beautifully displayed and as if that is not enough you can also order eggs any style. Different fish, cheeses, hams, Polish foods, an American breakfast, glutenfree, vegan, porridge, pastries or a super healthy granola bowl? It’s all there! We tried all smoothies just for fun.

Thank you Aries Hotel & Spa for the wonderful stay! Book or check rates here.
