A welcome escape from the hustling and bustling of the Beijing streets is designer courtyard hotel, Duge Courtyard Boutique Hotel. This little hideaway hotel is the first designer hotel of China and is part of what was once the residence of a noble family with a history of more than 300 years. The interior design work was done by award winning interior designers Jehanne de Biolley and Harrison Liu, known for bringing together the Eastern and Western styles. The urban chic design consists of bright, vibrant colours and exquisite details, while fusing traditional architecture with contemporary custom-made furniture and luxurious touches. The rooms all face a quiet inner courtyard, offering you a moment of tranquillity before you hit the busy streets again for sight seeing. All six rooms are differently decorated with their own tradition and Chinese style. My favourite room is the Bamboo room. A stay at this hotel will surely be an unique and memorable experience.
In the Bamboo room, the accent is cool refinement. This mainly monochrome suite is elegant simple, perfect blend of classical & contemporary Chinese décor. This suite retains the original, intricately carved Moongate that separated the space, now transformed into a bedroom & parlor.
With its rich red peony décor and Shanghai-classic furnishings the peonysuite evokes memories of a bygone era, without compromising on contemporary elegance and
comfort.
