It’s not about the outside, but the inside….Well, not necessarily. When it comes to gift giving, that is. I’ve been wrapping Christmas gifts and do think that the presentation is just as important as the gift inside the box. It adds to the feeling of anticipation and makes the receiver of the gift feel extra special. Moreover, it shows that you care and have taken the time to make it pretty. Pinterest is an infinite source of wrapping ideas and I get a lot of my creative ideas from there. I have already more than one hundred gift wrapping ideas on my board and I’m adding new ones every day.

For a blogging friend in London I chose to use brown paper packages with vintage embellishments. For another blog friend I chose a modern monochromatic theme with touches of red. You’ll see round white gift tags which I made out of modelling clay and stamped before baking. I will have a special blog post up soon to show you how to do it yourself. When wrapping your gifts, think outside the box, and use mundane things like an old postcard, a page out of an old book, or a musical sheet to add texture and layers. A tiny chalkboard or a piece of bark might just as well function as name labels, and masking tape is the best and easiest way to spruce things up.
