Tropical colours crush

I can’t wait till spring. This year spring fashion and interior home decor are offering us a tropical colour explosion. Hues like flamingo pink, vibrant coral, bright yellow and Carribean blue are dominating many designs. The trending colours remind me of my favourite travel destination, where I go almost annually: Curaçao. So it didn’t take me long to find matching photographs to confirm it: sun, sea, flamingos and Caribbean architecture must have been the inspirational source, no doubt about it!

Yesterday (Feb 1 ) Ikea launched the limited edition SPRINGKORN. The SPRINGKORN collection is an explosion of color with brightly colored quilts and bedspreads, cushions that scream summer and cheerful plaids for chilly spring evenings outside. The patterns are very retro with diamond shapes, flamingos, and ovals.

At H&M Home they have an entire Flamingo collection for the bathroom with shower curtain, towels and accessories. And if you want to play it down, you can always opt for one or two accessories in an all white interior. A yellow lamp and pink flamingo will do the trick.

  1. I love flamingos Louise!! And these tropical colours are making me feel very summery! The sun is even out here in Devon and I can actually see the sea from home office today as the view is not obscured by mist!! Bring on the beach BBQs with colourful blankets!!!

  2. Louise, I saw this flamingo fabric when I stopped at Ikea today, it’s very pretty and summery. Since I am looking for ideas how to redo my home office, this fabric might become my window curtain.
