One of the most evident home interior trends I spotted at the Dutch home decor fair Woonbeurs, was decorating with plants. They were everywhere and took central stage in many of the exhibitors’ styling. In particular cacti and succulents seem to make a comeback as well as ferns and tropical species. Not less, but more is more, and bigger is better are the two new rules in decorating with plants. Stand alone, or grouped together, hanging or on the floor, under a cloche or planted in a vintage suitcase, everything is allowed this season.
The best example of the Go Green trend at the Woonbeurs was the model home by Dutch magazine Eigen Huis & Interieur. Set against a modern interior with colourful furniture and geometric walls you can see that cacti just about go with any interior style.
