A few weeks ago I had a lovely lunch at the newly opened Brasserie OCCO in The Dylan hotel Amsterdam. The brasserie and bar is open daily, and all day. It’s in particular a perfect spot to meet for breakfast, lunch, drinks or dinner with business associates, or for people who enjoy an urban chic atmosphere and Parisian-like brasserie menu. The interior design, done by Studio Linse is a mix of contemporary interior design with a splash of Hollywood Regency glam. Soft lighting, marble tables and warm wood are combined with dark hued seats of leather and velvet.
I met at OCCO for lunch with a friend. The menu is very versatile with anything from salads, soup, burgers, to eggs benedict. We started with the oysters. I opted for the noodle soup with duck which was de-li-cious, and flavoursome. My friend had a juicy burger. The portions are perfect and leave you satisfied with space left for a dessert if you like.
There’s also an extensive selection of fine wines and gins. I opted for a virgin gin toni which was very refreshing.
When the weather permits, you can also sit outside in the courtyard, a space that evokes style and sophistication. Brasserie OCCO is definitely a nice addition to the Amsterdam restaurant scene. The food is tasty and affordable, and the entourage chic but not too pretentious. For more info and reservations: http://www.occo.nl/ – Keizersgracht 384
