Atelier 8 has so much to choose from: large and small home decor items like vases, throws, lamps, and chairs. But also bathroom essentials like hamam towels and kitchenware like mugs and tea towels. And ofcourse there … [Read more...]

Postcard from Haarlem

I've been spending a lot of time in Haarlem lately. One of my best friends lives there and together we've been hotspot hunting and exploring the best coffee places and little boutiques. What I love about Haarlem is that there are so many good restaurants, independent brand boutiques, and picturesque streets. I love to take side streets and alleys to uncover beautiful postcard picture houses and streets. The people in Haarlem really know how to spruce up their curb appeal with gorgeous plants and … [Read more...]

Hot spot Haarlem: Portrait conceptstore

Conceptstores are abound in Haarlem. One not to miss on your next shopping spree is conceptstore Portrait. The store is located in a former horse stable that was transformed into a robust space with bare walls, sleek tiles and a concrete floor. They promise beans, cotton and things. The beans refer to the coffee bar and corner where you can enjoy a good cup of Guatemalan Zagadabi coffee, freshly baked pastry, or lemonade. The vintage furniture, which they upholstered themselves, are inviting, … [Read more...]

The Dutch city Haarlem is one of my favourite cities to shop. It has so many trendy boutiques, charming restaurants and coffee bars, and quaint little streets. Coming weeks (or maybe even months) I'll be sharing my favourite places and hot spots with you. I'd like to start with fashion store Jutka & Riska. They recently moved from the Kruisstraat to the Grote Houtstraat 160. I love the new interior: all white with a white tiled counter, and design light bulbs above the clothing racks. Jutka … [Read more...]
