Liebster Blog Award

I’m honoured to say I received not one but two nominations for the Liebster Blog Award last week. The Liebster Blog Award is an award given from bloggers to bloggers who are small to medium or upcoming in the blogosphere. The nominations were given to me by New york based blogger Tina who has a lovely blog called Life in sketch, and by Barcelona based blogger Gudy who writes eclectic trends.

Now it is my task to answer 11 questions they posed to me, nominate my 11 nominations for must-visit blogs, and come up with 11 questions to ask my nominees. Since I got nominated twice, I won’t answer all 22 questions and will pick half by each. But first, my nominees for the Liebster Blog Award…drums……

And here are my 11 revelations:

(Gudy) what social media platform do you prefer and why?

I prefer Facebook because it gives you a quick overview of everything relevant and enables you to vary between text, photos, video, and polls.

(Gudy) what language would you like to learn?

I would like to develop my Spanish into an advanced level. I used to be intermediate, but since I don’t get to practice it very often, it has downgraded to a basic level again.

(Gudy) are you good at any handcrafting?

I can do small simple craft projects that don’t involve too many steps and don’t take too much time. I just don’t have the patience to make something if I can get it in a store much quicker. I do like to knit my own scarf every year. I love the sound and the monotone activity brings me to a state of total bliss.

(Gudy) how does a perfect day for you look like?

That would be a Sunday. Sleeping in, preparing a lavish brunch with eggs and salmon. Then going for a walk on the beach and afterwards cozy up on the couch with a pot of tea and a classic Audrey Hepburn movie.

(Gudy) what is your favorite building/monument?

The Statue of Liberty – its significance and its history are so special

(Gudy) what has been your longest trip so far and where did you go?

I have made many long trips (4 weeks) because I believe that you can only truly experience a culture, county and/or city when you mingle with the locals, submerge yourself in all a destination has to offer beside the landmarks and sightseeing hot spots, and go off the beaten track. I spent 4 weeks in Cuba, Curacao, Bali, even in New York.

(Tina) Why did you start blogging?

I wanted to document my favourite finds, places and recipes somewhere so it would be easily searchable.

(Tina) If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Somewhere in the caribbean near the beach
(Tina) What do you prefer – reading or watching movies?
Watching a movie. I hardly ever read a book anymore because I had to read too many mandatory literature in college and I also read a lot for my business.
(Tina) What’s your favorite season?
Summer, I have tropical DNA
(Tina) What’s something you couldn’t live without?
Tea, especially before going to sleep
(Tina) What’s your favorite piece in your home?
My huge dinner table
(Tina) Morning beverage – coffee or tea?
I start my day with 2 mugs of coffee and then I switch to tea all day long
(Tina) Cook or order in?
Cook because it’s healthier
