Keep Leaf lunch bags

Yesterday I was in Dutch shop WAAR in The Hague, where they sell mostly Fair Trade Home accessories. When I came in, one of the first things that caught my eye were the colours and patterns of these small bags. A look up close taught me they were lunch bags, produced in India. Jaswinder Salh, Canadian from Indian descent is the founder of the brand: Keep Leaf.

Jaswinder used to have a career in fashion with big fashion houses on her resume. When she started her family, her kids gave her a new perspective on the world and she opted to pay more attention to the environment and labour conditions in factories in low wage environments. So she decided to start her own business in 2007 to support her ideals. The Keep Leaf products are made in a factory called ETI (Ethical Trade Initiative). It is certified in schooling and training of employees, no child labour and good labour conditions.

The bags are big enough to hold your lunch and a small thermos bottle. They are made of 100% organic cotton canvas with a velcro closure and machine washable. Find out where to buy here (€19.50)
