In October IKEA launches its new collection and it’s going to be a vibrant one. Popping colours, fun and new design products, and boldly patterned fabrics are just the tip of the iceberg.
High design made affordable
I can reveal that IKEA has also teamed up with three major design brands to bring us some cutting edge, affordable design: Tom Dixon, Piet Hein Eek, and Hay. Tom Dixon‘s designs for small spaces is however not expected until August 2017. The collaboration with Hay launches October 2017 and focuses on functional living rooms with Scandinavian design. Piet Hein Eek is working on a new JASSA collection to launch in summer 2017 that involves robust, sustainable rattan furniture.
Here’s a preview of my top 3 autumn 2016 collection items.
IDEBO cable management bag
The IDEBO cable management bag is the solution to all those cluttered corners in your home because of charging cables, sockets and transformers. With the super stylish IDEBO you can hide them away and minimize the dust attraction. The bag will become available in October in white or grey, and is only € 4.99
FINSTILT dinnerware collection
IKEA launches a new dinnerware collection inspired by Swedish heritage motifs. The pattern is inspired by folklore, classical Swedish Kurbits paintings and other brush painting styles. The designer Annie Huldén wanted to combine traditional craftmanship with a modern touch. Made in durable stoneware, the launch includes differently sized bowls, side plates, paper napkins and mugs.
The best way to update your interior is with a few new accessories and fabrics. New pillow cases and a rug can give your space a whole new look. IKEA introduces the HALVED rug that is striped in twelve different colours. This colorful statement piece adds fun and a pop of colour to any space. The wool rug is handwoven. If you can’t afford a Missoni or Jonathan Adler rug, this is your best alternative!
