Hotel to Heart: Sofitel Le Grand Ducal in Luxembourg

Imagine waking up in a super soft bed, in a timeless elegant room and with a magnificent panoramic view on the enchanting Alzette and Petrusse valley of Luxembourg. That’s what happened when I spent the weekend in the Sofitel Le Grand Ducal in Luxembourg. The five-star designhotel, designed by Philippe Capronis, is sleek chic with a contemporary interior design and vividly colored pop culture art objects. The glass structure is in sheer contrast to the Unesco heritage Old town with its cultural and historic landmarks, nonetheless perfectly located only steps from the old town’s buzz and shopping area.

The Sofitel Le Grand Ducal hotel rooms are in a black and white, burgundy and bright pink color scheme. The bathroom is pure luxury with Hermes products, fluffy robes and slippers, and let’s not forget the transparent shower cabin with mood light. Colorful mood lighting is found everywhere in the hotel, even in the elevator where it changes as you ascend or descend. The crown of the hotel is the panoramic bar and restaurant Mu, said to be the best bar in town.

Breakfast at Sofitel Le Grand Ducal is also something else. The buffet has healthy choices like a smoothie bowl, porridge with fruits, freshly baked artisan bread, or English breakfast presented in Luxembourg’s Le Creuset pottery. Breakfast à la carte is packed with delicious choices like pancakes, eggs Benedict, or eggs any style. But whatever you choose, it is the sunrise and panoramic view while sipping your coffee that makes it a memorable experience.

This blog post was created in collaboration with the hotel during a press trip I was invited on. Nonetheless, I only share experiences I genuinely liked and think are good for my readers.
