Frans Hoogendoorn fashion exhibition

Last week I visited the fashion exhibition 'Frans Hoogendoorn' in the Gemeentemuseum The Hague. Although it's a small exhibition, I do think it's a must-see for anyone who appreciates fashion and couture in particular. You can easily combine your visit with the another interesting exhibition in the Gemeentemuseum like e.g. the Art Deco expo. Frans Hoogendoorn is a Dutch couturier and a household name in the Netherlands for over 40 years. Throughout his career he has consciously avoided the … [Read more...]

Art Deco exhibition in Gemeentemuseum The Hague

On Friday I visited the exhibition 'Art Deco' in the Gemeente museum in The Hague. It's a must see for anyone who loves fashion and/or interior design. The building of the Gemeente museum is in itself very fitting for this exhibition as it is also Art Deco architecture by H.P. Berlage. The exhibition lasts until March 4, 2018. The emergence of Art Deco, which begun in 1920 and lasted till 1939 influenced fashion, arts, architecture, interior design and industrial design. Couturier Paul Poiret … [Read more...]

Givency to Audrey with Love

Being a major Audrey Hepburn fan, I couldn't be more excited about an exhibition than about Hubert de Givenchy: To Audrey with Love. From 26 November 2016 till 26 March 2017, the Gemeente museum The Hague is home to this awe-inspiring showcase. Legendary French couture designer de Givenchy pays tribute to his muze and style icon Audrey Hepburn. The exhibition is a retrospect of his work and was curated in close collaboration with the man himself. He even selected some of his most beloved … [Read more...]

The Hague Favourite: Jamey Bennet

The Hague has a new kid on the block: Kitchen & Bar Jamey Bennet. A few weeks ago I went to check out this new hot spot and I was pleasantly surprised. My verdict? Jamey Bennet is definitely a keeper with its hip interior, great ambiance and delicious food.  On a weekday night the crowd is a mix of expats, 30-50 year-olds, and a few students. The setting is like a living room with an international and brasserie-like vibe. The name Jamey Bennet derives from a British undercover … [Read more...]
