Pannacotta with warm honey-baked figs

It's figs season and I wish it was all year round. Figs are so healthy and have such a delicate flavour and structure. I was excited when I found a recipe on the blog Cook me Greek, where he used the figs in combination with a typical Italian dessert, pannacotta, but also gave it a Greek twist by using Greek yoghurt in the … [Read more...]

Brussels sprouts & Butternut squash soup

Seasonal cooking is one of the best things. With the cold evenings there is nothing better than to come home and cook comfort food. The other day I didn't feel like cooking at all, nor going outside again to get groceries. The only things I had in the fridge were some leftover brussels sprouts, lamb sausages, and a half butternut squash (Dutch translation spruitjes en flespompoen). Thanksgiving Wreath

I love to make my own wreath and floral arrangements for the holidays. Have you also noticed that lush and asymmetrical wreaths are trending? Another trend I also noticed is the use of succulents in wreaths and bouquets. Inspired by the many pictures on pinterest and blogs I created a small wreath with eucalyptus, dahlias, a succulent and berries. I first covered the mold with moss and tightened it with wire. I then used rope to tighten the eucalyptus branch by branch on top of one another … [Read more...]
