Summer drink: Lolea sparkling wine

There's a new drink I'm very enthusiastic about which is perfect for summer. It's the Lolea sparkling wine. I was already a fan of the Lolea sangria, but this one is even better! The bottle alone is so pretty and elegant. The Lolea rosé has a distinctive floral taste with a tone of ginger and hibiscus flower. It is made from the Spanish Grenache and Tempranillo grapes. It's fresh like a white wine, but also has character and depth like a red wine has. It's a harmonious and delicate blend of … [Read more...]

Restaurant C: hot design, warm atmosphere, cool and sizzling food

Restaurant C Amsterdam

Last weekend I had a celebratory birthday dinner of a friend in the newly opened Restaurant C in Amsterdam east. All I can say is "wow!" Restaurant C is really something else. I don't think I have ever eaten food with this much flavour before. The 'C' stands for Celsius, because at Restaurant C you are taken on a culinary journey of temperatures. By preparing the dishes on different temperatures - -20°C, 80°C, 100°C and 200°C - the textures and flavours of the products change. But let's talk … [Read more...]

Cocktails at The Vault Bar in Amsterdam

Vault Bar Amsterdam

Amsterdam has gained another top-level cocktail bar; The Vault Cocktail Bar. The newly opened hotspot is situated in the luxurious Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam hotel. The Vault Bar's name and concept is inspired by the location's former function, namely a bank vault. Thick walls, a vault wheel on the entrance door, and a wall covered with bank lockers revert back to yester years. The cocktail menu however, is nothing but classical. Expect groundbreaking mixology that takes you on a … [Read more...]

Mykonos Restaurant Tip: The Greco Philia Restaurant & Bar

Greco Philia Restaurant

Perched on a steep hill at Elia Beach, with breathtaking views, sits The Greco Philia Restaurant & Bar. A lunch, aperitif, or dinner at this restaurant guarantees food with character. Since I stayed at the Greco Philia luxury boutique hotel, I got to sample multiple dishes. Their Mediterranean menu is 'Greek fare with modern flair' as they eloquently like to put it. Expect fresh, local produce and homegrown vegetables and herbs. Indulge in home-baked bread, cheese and honey from … [Read more...]

The Tailor Amsterdam

In 1856,  the Polish tailor Krasnapolsky arrived in Amsterdam and built an icon in the Dutch capital: the NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky. On February 17, 2016 his legacy got a new dimension with the opening of the über cool cocktail bar The Tailor. The journey of the Polish-Dutch Krasnapolsky tailor is also what inspired the bar's concept. The Pulitzer’s Bar Amsterdam mixes modern cocktails with classic cool

Pulitzer's Bar Amsterdam

Two weeks ago I was invited to a dazzling evening to drink to the official opening of the new Pulitzer's Bar in Amsterdam. A perfect spot to shake of all your stress and stir up a small celebration with friends. The cocktail bar combines the art of modern mixology with classic cocktails, all set in an elegant atmosphere. Their fourteen cocktails and three mocktails all have one thing in common: they are partly classical recipes, but with a modern twist. Also the Gin & Tonic mixes are shaken … [Read more...]

Athens hot spot: Tailor Made micro Roastery & Cocktail bar

When travelling it is always a challenge to find a good coffee place. When I was on my city trip to Athens, I soon found out that for the Greek, coffee is a big deal. The city is therefore chock full of kafeneios, (traditional coffee houses) and kafeterias, the modern cafe. But for the best brew in the city you go to Tailor Made in the centre, right on bustling  Agias Eirinis square. The lively square is only a stone throw from crowd attracting Monastiraki, so perfectly located for a pit stop or … [Read more...]
