Yesterday the Amsterdam International Fashion Week was kicked off with an evening full of catwalk fashion. So I’m staying in the fashion vibe, by telling you a story about the most talked about and wanted shoe at this moment…
It was only a week ago that shoe designer Christian Louboutin added yet another shoe to his repertoire. After long hours and working against the clock, he only just in time finished the shoe with the red sole that would later be found by Prince Charming.
In honour of the release of the Cinderella Diamond edition movie on blu-ray on October 2nd, Louboutin used his magic to create an interpretation of the iconic glass slipper. The fairy-tale pumps, together with sketches and stills from the film were introduced in Paris last week. “Cinderella is not only an iconic character when it comes to beauty, grace and fairytale love, but also shoes,” Louboutin said. “Her character and her story dictated the design to me, it was all there in the pages and the words of this tale.” The shoes couldn’t be made of glass so instead Louboutin used white lace and a Swarovski-crystal-butterfly-embellished heel of 12 cm. The shoe is, as you might have guessed a limited edition with only 20 copies worldwide of which 2 of them will be honored to Mariah Carey and Dita Von Teese.
