Weekend tip: Pick your own tulips

The weather is gorgeous today and it’ll be like this all weekend they say. So let’s go outdoors! Today I went to Annemiekes Pluktuin in Hillegom. It is a pick your own flower farm. You might remember my blogpost from last summer when I went there to pick my own summer flowers (read here). In spring I always go there to pick my own fresh tulips. Sometimes I’m a feet in the mud, and get my hands dirty kind of gal. They grow them in all colours and kinds you can hardly get at flower shops, like e.g. the parrot tulip. You can pick blooming ones or the ones that are still closed.

Combine your trip with a ride through the many tulip fields in Lisse and Hillegom, or visit nearby De Keukenhof. Haarlem is also nearby so you can also combine it with a shopping spree. Holland is really at its best in spring!

And this is my loot of tulips. I picked a bunch that is already open and a bunch that are still closed to experience all stages. Imagine how colourful my home will be!
