If you are a fashion-savvy person and in for some good old entertainment this weekend, you must watch the documentary Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf’s. It was recently released on DVD and by me long anticipated. I love the department store Bergdorf Goodman! It is part of American culture and a trip to New York isn’t complete without a visit to this American fashion paradise. [continue reading after photo]
The documentary shows us the history, the culture, the designers, the personnel and the customers. Naturally a lot of customers are American celebrities and style icons, thus giving you a high level of entertaining anecdotes. From Joan Rivers, to the Olsen twins and Nicole Richie. Designers like Vera Wang and Diane von Furstenberg give their take on what draws people to Bergdorf’s. But we also get to see the personal shoppers for the socialites and elite. It is high end entertaining! Just watch the trailer and you’ll know what I mean…
Bergdorf’s is fun. I’ve yet to buy anything there – way too expensive. It is a NY icon – have you read Bergdorf Blondes? pretty amusing if silly (think Bridget Jones becomes an upper east sider).
Browsing alone, and the shop windows are already fun for me. No haven’t read that yet. Beach literature I understand 😉
