Who doesn’t like Asian food? If you’re planning a night out with friends, an Asian restaurant is usually your best bet as it appeals to everyone’s taste. The latest hot spot in Amsterdam West is the hip Asian restaurant Happy Happy Joy Joy on the Bilderdijkstraat 158hs. Run by famous Dutch chef cook Julius Jaspers, the restaurant serves real Asian street food. Unlike other Asian restaurants in Amsterdam, where you get large portions, Happy Happy Joy Joy embraces a concept of serving small dishes so you can try, taste and share different flavours. Three to four dishes is usually sufficient. The menu consists of Vietnamese, Chinese, Thai, Indonesian and Malaysian dishes as we know it from our holidays there. If you’re in a rush, the take-away service comes in handy too. Naturally they also have a fine selection of Asian drinks or teas.
