A Historical Journey of Flavours at Restaurant Sucede in Valencia

Restaurant Sucede Valencia

While staying at the Caro Hotel in Valencia, I also had dinner at their fine dining restaurant: Sucede. Dinner at Sucede guarantees a historical journey of flavours and ingredients. I had the Valencian sample menu that takes you on a journey through the different decades of the city with its different cultural influences. The small appetizer-size dishes take you from the Roman occupation, to the Arabic influences and ending with the Christian Spanish era. But not only the flavours transport you … [Read more...]

Dinner at Brooks Brasserie in Amsterdam

Brasserie Brooks Amsterdam

I have a new favourite restaurant in Amsterdam Oud Zuid: Brooks. With its super cozy atmosphere, a deer head and fire place, Brooks is the perfect go to restaurant after a day of Christmas shopping. The menu that changes regularly celebrates the season with yummie seasonal comfort food and desserts that make you crave for seconds. For starters my friend and I had a go at the crab cakes with fennel, Granny Smith apple and lemon mayonnaise. Nice but it didn't blow our minds. What did fire … [Read more...]

Dinner at the Amstel Boathouse

Amstel boathouse

Amsterdam has a new hidden gem in the restaurant scene: The Amstel Boathouse. Located a few steps from the Amstel river, and just around the corner of the De Miranda aquatic center I instantly felt a connection with the restaurant. :-) The restaurant has an ambiance that transports you right to the Hamptons. The interior is super cozy with a fire place surrounded by inviting armchairs, warm wooden tables, navy blue dining chairs, and many nautical accessories. In winter the perfect sanctuary for … [Read more...]

Paris hotspot: Brasserie Le Brebant

Le Brebant Paris

Paris is packed with good brasseries, but on my last trip to the city of lights, I had dinner at a quite unique one. Brasserie Le Brebant at 32 Boulevard Poissonnière (metrostation Grand Boulevard) has a quirky, tropical meets vintage interior that caught my eye when looking for a place to eat. Later I found out that this brasserie is one of the oldest in the city dating back to 1865! There's an always busy outside terrace, that is great for people watching. In the split-level inside area it … [Read more...]

Restaurant La Régalade Conservatoire in Paris

La Régalade Conservatoire

Paris is packed with good restaurants, but the ones I love most are those where the locals go out to eat. La Régalade Conservatoire is one of those places. The restaurant is part of Hotel de Nell and located just off the Grand Boulevard in Rue du Conservatoire. The 'bistronomy' concept by Bruno Doucet is simple and stylish. The menu is down-to-earth and very accessible. With its multiple choice fixed price menu (€37 for a three-course meal) you can expect seasonal, local and traditional recipes … [Read more...]
