A pop-up breakfast place that has been the talk of the town in Amsterdam is Paper Planes. This hip rock star breakfast bar serves yummy LA food on changing locations. When I went to this cool Amsterdam hotspot, Paper Planes was housed in Nacional (and will be until Feb 2016). The interior of Nacional is noteworthy, but let’s talk food first! Don’t you sometimes just wish you could eat breakfast or brunch all day long? Well, that’s possible at this LA food joint! All day breakfast and lunch in a beautiful restaurant, make this place an instant hotspot.
The menu is filled with healthy and hearty breakfast dishes or comfort food brunch plates. American food at it’s best!
We ordered fresh OJ, scrambled eggs and avocado, and eggs benedict with smoked salmon, Bearnaise sauce and saffron. As it turned out, they ran out of oranges, so they made us a fresh and healthy green smoothie (think mango, vanilla, spinach and coconut water!).
As they serve LA food, we just had to try the pancakes with fresh fruit. The vanilla mascarpone that was served with this dish, gave the whole thing a creamy and rich flavor. Delicious.
Nacional is owned by Casper Reinders, tycoon of the Amsterdam hospitality industry. The brasserie’s interior breathes a 1950’s Parisian atmosphere. With chic details such as a 200 year old wooden floor, original French tiles & lamps, bistro chairs and brasserie bar stools, and marble tables, this is a good spot to eat, drink, work and socialize!
So look no further, this traveling rock star breakfast bar pops up at cool city locations: Paper Planes is where it’s at!
Paper Planes is currently located in the city center at Nacional at the Kleine Gartmanplantsoen 11.
