Hotel to Heart: Hotel Sezz Saint Tropez

If you’re travelling to Saint Tropez this summer, I highly recommend staying at the über stylish and en vogue design hotel: Hotel Sezz Saint Tropez. The name might ring a bell if you are a regular reader of the blog, since I also stayed at the Hotel Sezz in Paris last year December (see my review about Hotel Sezz Paris here). The Saint Tropez boutique hotel was everything I expected, and more. Impeccable service and hospitality, a spot on interior design, and a relaxed unpretentious atmosphere, make this hotel one to put in my top 5 of most pleasant hotels I’ve stayed in.IMG_5315IMG_5318IMG_1325ed

When we drove up we were welcomed by valet parking and the hostess who invited us to the outside terrace for a glass of champagne, a cocktail and some bites. Meanwhile we could take in the design: contemporary, with sleek lines, a natural colour palette, and use of plants and flowers to blend in with the location’s vegetation and colour scheme.  The design furniture, marble top tables, and wire chairs, are perfectly on trend but also create an airy and light feeling. The furniture is all signed by famous designer Christophe Pillet. In his elegant style, the designer plays with the revival of fifties influences which is totally up my alley. The pool area and outside restaurant terrace evoke tranquility and elegance without being too glamourous. I felt right at home. IMG_5324IMG_5332IMG_5348

We spent most of the day around the pool which is a haven of serenity. We had an amazing lunch, delicious cocktails, and around noon we were treated to complimentary fresh fruit. The hotel is ideally located. It is only a short drive to the city where there’s lots to do (read my tips here), and an equally short drive to the famous beaches and beach clubs.Hotel Sezz Saint TropezIMG_5308IMG_5347IMG_5336

Hotel Sezz St. Tropez has 35 rooms and 2 luxury villas with swimming pools. The rooms are like small bungalows with a beautiful terrace overlooking a private garden as well as an extended bathroom with outdoor shower. The bathroom especially is pure bliss due to its space, and many amenities. Inside the rooms the architecture offers a vast high curve reaching 5 metres and ending in an immense bay window. IMG_5306IMG_5288IMG_5282IMG_5292IMG_1334edIMG_1339edIMG_5305IMG_5302IMG_5296IMG_5297IMG_5299IMG_5300

The hotel also has a spa with jacuzzi and steam room, and a small outdoor gym. Unfortunately we didn’t have enough time to try out one of the treatments.IMG_5341

The restaurant, Colette, offers spectacular food and wine. At the bar and restaurant you can sample the best wines, and champagne. I loved the local wine especially! We had an amazing dinner! As a starter I had the squash blossom friters with prawns, sardine, sage, and pepper coulis with brown sugar. In just one word: wow! As a main we shared the Mixed-grill with corn pancakes, chimichurri sauce. The mixed grill consists of Poultry, sausages, Iberian pluma, rib eye steak, beef fillet and duck, all grilled on the barbecue. This is hands down a restaurant to go to, even if you’re not staying in the Sezz Hotel.

The breakfast is extensive as well. Imagine having al fresco breakfast with fresh fruit, pancakes, crepes, and an omelette with the morning sun beams touching your face? Good, right?breakfast at hotel sezzHotel Sezz Saint Tropez made my trip to the mondain city an unforgetable one. I can’t wait to go back.
