Hotel to Heart: Four Seasons Anguilla

Whenever the weather turns bad, I start browsing the internet for attractive offers for my next great escape to the Caribbean. The ultimate holiday for me is one where I can relax, rejuvenate and get pampered. That’s why I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, the Four Seasons Anguilla so much. If anyone would ask me to name the best hotel I have ever stayed in, Four Seasons Anguilla is my answer, hands down. The service is impeccable, the food is to die for, and the amenities are more than top notch. The staff knows your name and wait you on hand and foot. You even have an app you can install on your phone to get all your information, book a spa treatment, order room service, or browse the restaurant menu. It truly exceeds all expectations for style, comfort and service.

Viceroy Anguilla is situated between the beaches of Barnes and Meads bays. The jaw-dropping sleek and modern style resort has large glass windows with views in all directions. The interior is ultra glam and chic, completely done by renowned interior designer Kelly Wearstler. You see a lot of organic elements like driftwood lamps and petrified-wood tables, concrete elements and her signature style furniture. Especially when you walk into the spa, you will immediately recognize her designs.

Although the resort counts 166 rooms, suites and residences, you will hardly notice the other guest due to the spacious set up, large green stretches and expansive architectural style. The resort has 2 pools, an infinity pool, and a beach, a spa, and a gym. Then there are 3 restaurants, a seaside bar and grill, and a lounge and bar area.

From the Sunset lounge and bar, or the infinity pool you have a stunning view of the bay with its sun kissed blue water and white sand beach. My experience is that most guests were young urban professionals from New York, and honeymooners who were all there to get their rest, and with whom I would share an occasional chat on the beach or at the pool. (This might also be because I travel in low season.) Consequently I would describe the vibe at the resort as laid back, personal and hip. Later I found out that the Four Seasons Anguilla is a popular among celebrities. Oh well, sorry I missed you Beyonce!

The spacious outdoor sundeck was heavenly to spend my evenings, reading a book.

The Four Seasons Anguilla is truly a great and glam retreat to restore and bask in the sun. A luxury resort where design and comfort, personal attention and rest, go hand in hand. I can’t wait till my next visit.
