A visit to the pumpkin patch

It’s October already! I can’t believe how fast this year has gone by. Because of the prolonged summer weather it doesn’t feel like autumn at all. Nonetheless, I decided to go to a pumpkin farm this weekend to pick the perfect pumpkins for decorations. In Lisserbroek, a small town between Haarlem and Leiden, I found the perfect pumpkin patch: Pompoenen en Kalebassen Lisserbroek (Gansoord 38). They sell all kinds of pumpkins and gourds in all sizes and varieties. Most of them are edible too. A few years ago I already blogged about the different sorts of pumpkins. The prizes vary from € 1-3 depending on size and and they come fresh from the land. You are free to roam around and pick the perfect pumpkin. The colors are a feast for the eyes ranging from green, grey, white, yellow to different shades of orange. I’m super happy I found this place and can’t wait to start decorating my front door with gourds, pumpkins and autumn greenery.
