Spotted at Maison et Objet: MT Casa washi tape

Last week I was at the largest European interior design exhibition and home trade fair in Paris: Maison et Objet. For the coming weeks I will be sharing my findings and trends I spotted. I will alternate between photos I took myself at the fair with my phone, and press pictures I received from the brands. (taking photos at the fair was officially prohibited, hence the use of my iPhone)

A huge disclosure was the new MT washi tape collection called MT Casa. If you don’t know what washi/masking tape is, and have missed the hype, read my blog post On rolls here.

The brand MT introduced 40 different colorful designs of wide washi (or masking) tape to decorate your walls and furniture. Each design comes in 3 types of width. In addition there are now also round stickers in 10 different designs to give your door, window, desk or chair a playful look. The MT Casa collection will soon be available in the Netherlands/Belgium at Papiermier and Authentique Mignon, and Designfabrix. [continue reading after photos]

There were also a few new designs in the basic washi tape rolls collection. I especially liked the encyclopedia collection with forest designs: one roll with illustrations of forest animals and what they eat, and the other with forest flora and a roll with depictions of different planets. Very cute for fall and christmas gift wrapping!

I also visited the MT Store at Uniqlo Paris Opéra which is only there for a limited period (until September 19). You can buy limited editions of washi tape, t-shirts with MT designs, or just wander around in awe of the abundance of different colours, designs and ways of applications you’d never think of.
