My Berlin tips continue! I have so much to share from my short city trip last week. But since I don’t want to overwhelm you, this will be my last post for now, and I will pick up where I left, next week.
If you’re visiting Berlin on a Thursday you’re in luck, because the capital has designated Thursday as the Street Food day. Berliners flock to Markthalle Neun where food trucks, pure food producers and culinary street vendours congregate to feed the hungry locals when they get off from work. Markthalle Neun in Kreuzberg is the scene of many food related events. On Fridays and Saturdays it houses a farmers market, and on weekdays you can have lunch when the hall is transformed in Kantine Neun, where they serve up dishes made with sustainable, fair trade and regional products.
But back to Thursdays. During this weekly event you can feast your eyes, and put your teeth into simple and small meals, freshly prepared for you on site. The hall is filled with the cultural local bountiful foods and slow food movers. The options are countless: from barbecue pork, to vegan tofu burgers and grilled fish and vegetables. Sandwiches, tacos, or soup, you have your pick. It’s the best place to get a taste of eclectic food from around the globe! – Thursdays from 17:00 to 22:00 hrs, Eissenbahnstraße 42, Kreuzberg

Yum!!! I love street food. Someone was questioning whether food trucks had their day because in the US the Four Seasons has rolled out its own food truck too! Only with champagne and caviar….
haha that is so funny….and taking a trend on a wrong turn. I wonder where this food truck trend came from. I go to the Caribbean each year and over there it has been part of the culture since I was a kid.
